Italian Sausage in Air Fryer

Italian sausage in the air fryer is part of a quick and easy low carb lunch the entire family will love. You will be floored on how easy the step by step recipe is on how to cook Italian sausage in the air fryer.

Ingredients Needed 

Italian Sausage

I found Italian sausage at my local supermarket. Be sure when purchasing to look at the nutrition label and make sure the carbs and sugar are low. I encourage my patients to keep the carb count under 5 grams.

Low Carb Hot Dog Bun

I used Sola Buns which are available at Wal-Mart, Kroger, Drug Emporium, and Rouses. 

Low Carb Condiments

Mustard, mayo, etc.

How to Cook This Recipe.

  • Place Italian sausage links in air fryer basket.
  • Pour 1/4 cup of water into the air fryer basket
  • Air Fry (or air crisp) at 360 for 10 minutes.
  • Open lid (or pull out basket). Using tongs. Flip.
  • Close lid (or place basket in air fryer)
  • Air Fry (or air crisp) at 360 for 5-10 minutes.
  • Serve with a low carb hot dog bun and low carb condiment.

I don’t own a Ninja Foodi? Can I use any other Air Fryer in this Recipe?

Yes! This recipe will work in all Air Fryers.

Store cooked Italian sausage in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Cooked Italian sausage in the air fryer is perfect for a quick lunch. Find a low carb bun (I used Sola) and top with various low carb condiments.

Is Italian sausage keto?

More than likely, yes! Be sure to review the nutrition facts on the label to make sure the carbs and sugar fit into your specific keto plan.

Can I use frozen Italian sausage in air fryer?

You can! Just make sure to run the sausage (while still in the package) under hot water for about 30 seconds so you can remove it from the package. I would follow the same directions as above, but cook for a total of 20 minutes.
