Skinny Hot Pepper Jelly Spread

Skinny Hot Pepper Jelly Spread Text

This 2-ingredient spread is a skinny, lower-carb version of the very popular hot pepper jelly spread.

Sounds a little crazy? Jelly and skinny?

Before we get into my ‘skinny’ explanation – take a look into your cabinets. How many of us have canned hot pepper jelly from Christmas presents or the local farmers markets? Many times when I travel throughout this amazing state, one of my favorite ‘take homes’ is locally prepared hot pepper jelly.

While many local hot pepper jellies do not have nutrition labels, most have around 8 grams of sugar per one tablespoon. While this seems like a high amount (and we do want to be very conscious of our sugar/carb grams), we can enjoy these jellies……

Enter my Skinny Hot Pepper Jelly Spread. Similar recipes exist, but many use the entire jar (1 cup). This recipe calls for only 1/4 cup. We still receive the great taste of the jelly without having 8 grams of sugar per tablespoon.

What to serve with? My favorite – Mission Carb Balance Wraps cut into triangles! This will add a ton of fiber to your diet.

Nutrition Facts are very approximate depending on type of hot pepper jelly. Approximation per 2 tablespoons of skinny hot pepper jelly spread is 3-4 grams carbohydrate.
